Show Debut for SAM's New
Kula Switcher Range

A

t stand SL1805 at the NAB Show,
Snell Advanced media (SAM)
will show a host of technologies that
explore the company's leading position
in 4K, IP, HDR, software/virtualisation,
and solutions for monitoring and
workflow.
SAM's new Kula switcher range will
make its debut at the show. Kula has
already created a huge amount of
interest in the market as the most
powerful production switcher in its
class. It breaks new ground with
its price point and performance
combination. Easy installation and
set-up means operators can work
quickly and efficiently, focusing on
high value creative tasks. It's capable
of 4K/1080p/HD and SD in 1M/E
and 2M/E versions, and can handle
multiple formats.
Also on show will be the popular
Kahuna range of switchers, suited
for larger scale HD, 4K and now IP
environments. SAM has established
a leading position in 4K broadcasts

with the Kahuna being used at
events including the UK's Moto GP at
Silverstone and the recent El Clásico
soccer match. SAM will be making a
big 4K sports announcement in the
run-up to the show. SAM will also be
demonstrating its LiveTouch sports
highlights solution, offering replay,
slow-motion and powerful
editing with no media
movements.
The
Quantel
Rio
colour,
editing,
and finishing tool
is already gaining success in the
high-end post market with systems
deployed for 8K finishing. At NAB,
SAM will be showing its HDR and
Wide Colour Gamut features, its new
interface, enhanced Avid integration
and super accurate cloud tracker.
SAM's Alchemist XF, the world's best
standards converter, will also be on
show. For cost effective real-time 4K
conversion SAM is also introducing the
UHD1000, the latest addition to the

popular KudosPro signal processing
range.
SAM is also introducing an edit
timeline to the Go! remote production
suite. Desktop, laptop and tablet users
will have access to live and recorded
content to build stories, with timeline
editing and voiceover. Finished
sequences are ready for immediate
publishing.
SAM's new IP-Edge takes complexity
away from hybrid and pure IP

rollouts. Products that are IP-Edge
enabled include routers, switchers,
IQ processing, servers and playout
systems.
SAM offers sophisticated softwaredriven platforms and, going forward,
it will transition to a data centre model
for many product offerings. SAM's CiaB
solutions - ICE, ICE IP, and ICE SDC coupled with Morpheus, Momentum
and SAM's xFile framework form a
pathway to the future.

NETIA To Showcase Digital
Audio Software

t the 2016 NAB Show, NETIA will
showcase the full NETIA Media
Assist digital audio software suite, which
includes radio automation (production,
newsroom, scheduling, and playout
modules), media asset management,
and workflow management solutions.
The company will highlight new
product features that enhance
the flexibility and reliability of
multichannel FM radio and Web radio
playout and new capabilities that
enrich multimedia production, as well
as mobile and remote production
workflows. The company will also
demonstrate its ability to integrate
complex production ecosystems and
simplify the publishing of content and
data to the second screen.

AirPlayList 2.0 module, fully integrated
into the NETIA Media Assist
software suite to facilitate
automated playout of multiple
radio channels simultaneously

and with guaranteed redundancy.
Recognised with a Best of Show
Award at IBC2015 by Radio World
International and now making its
NAB Show debut, the new module
streamlines and simplifies the playout
workflow to make it easier than ever
to launch and maintain new Web radio
services.
The AirPlayList 2.0 module provides
targeted encoding of audio streams for
CDNs such as Shoutcast and Icecast.
In addition to enabling Web radio
playout, it also leverages datacasting
functionality from the Media Assist
AirPush module to deliver associated
metadata. Because the module is
audio-over-IP-compliant, users can
broadcast either from a traditional
physical sound card or using IP-based
virtual drivers.

New at the show is an on-demand
media logging feature targeting
users who need a simple solution for
simultaneous capture and review
of numerous audio and video feeds.

from legal review to security, this
feature makes it possible to perform
high-volume real-time recording and
monitoring locally through the richclient platform or from anywhere via
the software's Web-based interface.
