Logging and Compliance
Unlike other systems on the
market, Interra says its automated,
file-based QC solution Baton, provides
comprehensive
format
support,
support for multiple A/V quality
checks, and extensive checks for a
wide range of regulatory compliances.
"This provides operators with the

He says broadcaster clients want QC
tools that are flexible and configurable

for different geographies. In addition,
a product needs to support regional
regulations, allowing broadcasters and
post-production facilities to cater to
customers in specific territories.

that support file-based and real-time

in the workflows," adds Samanta.

What's New For NAB?

A

t NAB, look for enhancements
to Axon's Cerebrum control
and monitoring platform including
automatic tie-line management across
multiple routers for format conversion
and multi-site operations. There will
also be new third party options for
Cerebrum that support protocols from
SAM, Imagine, Clear-Com, Trilogy and
GVG.
Also in time for April are
enhancements to Volicon Share for the
Observer Platform including integration
with the as-run log (ARL), to enable
users without training on video edit
systems to remove ads quickly and

generate complete frame-accurate
long-form VOD assets.
Volicon also will feature Observer
OTT, which provides networks, video
service providers, and broadcasters
with a solution for logging and
monitoring OTT services that stream
content
to
computers,
tablets,
and smartphones. There will be
demonstrations of how Observer OTT
ingests content from a variety of target
mobile devices - not only to provide
a look at how consumers experience
streamed content, but also to speed
isolation and resolution of quality issues
for content viewed on various devices.

A key announcement from Actus at
NAB 2016 is a NLC (Near Live Clips)
technology. This allows editing and
preparation of clips just a few seconds
after their airing on linear TV and
delivering to OTT, VOD or catchup
TV, via CDN, FTP and internet, just a
few minutes later, explains Joffe. The
emphasis in the latest 5.9 release of
Actus Media Platform is an improved
ClipFactory product, for content
creation, repurposing and sharing.
Other improvements include integration
to automation systems and ARL files
through an API, for a fully automated
process. The new API for clips editing
and automatic removal of ads is now
frame accurate, says Joffe.
