collaboration with the Google Cloud
Platform. The relationship enables
Pixit Media to offer a new range
of storage services that improve
efficiencies and reduce capital
expenditure, accelerating project

The PixCache Cloud Render Gateway
for Google Cloud Platform reduces
the time and complexity required to
launch render resources in the cloud
by automatically and securely caching
assets from the customer's local
storage. This capability enables the
integration of visual effects workflows

a single copy of the data requested

At BVE, PlayBox Technology will
debut the CloudAir Universal Playout
and Streaming Platform to UK
broadcasters.
"Previewed
as
a
technology
demonstration at IBC2015, CloudAir
offers a gateway through which new
television channels can be established
without
the
usual
preliminary
investment in playout infrastructure,"
says Don Ash, President of PlayBox
Technology. "Channel proprietors
are then free to invest their startup
capital in creating or acquiring content
from which in turn they can build up
a healthy revenue stream. From an
operational perspective, CloudAir
allows new television channels to be
established in little more time than
it takes to make a phone call to the
service provider. This is particularly
important to anyone creating transient
OTT channels created supporting a
short-running programme series such
as the Olympics."
Artel is demonstrating media
transport solutions for video, audio,
and data over IP, direct fibre, and
optical networks. On show will be
integrated solutions including the
DigiLink media transport platform;
Fiberlink, the industry's largest
selection of fibre optic transmission
products; and Scan Do computer video
scan converters.

Datavideo's new webstreaming
solution enables organisations and
individuals to set up their own multichannel streaming service. For an
initial investment of less than £1,000
and a small monthly subscription to
a cloud network, users can stream
live, create a video on demand library
and share video content globally. The
entire set up is said to take around
10 minutes and to be fully scalable,
with channel owners determining
the audience size and the number of
channels.
"Just sending live video from one
office to another can be technically
challenging. Streaming live video to
audiences worldwide can be even
more problematic, with intrusive
advertising or high service charges.

Stirlitz Media will introduce SML5,
fast after-broadcast logging software
with HTML5 video playback and HLS
capture. New features include HTML5
MSE video playback in desktop SML
webPlayer, compatible with latest
Chrome, Firefox, IE and Safari with
no additional plugins needed. It also
supports HLS video playback in mobile
SML webPlayer, compatible with iOS
and Android. It enables HLS capture,
allowing direct capture of HTTP live
video-streams and low resolution
proxy recording.

LEADER will demonstrate 4K and HD
broadcast-quality waveform monitors
and rasterizers.
Kevin Salvidge, LEADER's European
Market Development Manager, says:
"The LV 5490 4K waveform monitor
is already one of the most versatile
test instruments currently available.
In its standard form, it offers 4K, UHD,
HD, SD and sub-SD format features
in a compact portable unit. However,
not all broadcasters or productions
companies currently need or want
4K/UHD products. That leaves them
with a dilemma. Do they simply
purchase more HD test
equipment,
knowing
that technology will
supersede it before it
has achieved its return
on investment, or do
they look to purchase
4K/UHD products knowing that they
are paying for technology they don't
currently need?"
LEADER has addressed this concern
with the new LV 5480 4K/UHDupgradeable 3G-SDI multi-format
waveform monitor. This accepts up to
eight SDI input signals simultaneously.

dedicated input connectors with cable
length measurement capabilities.
The other four can be configured as
inputs or outputs. This ensures that
one LV 5480 can provide simultaneous
monitoring of up to eight 3G HD-SDI
sources.
Also making its first UK exhibition
appearance will be LEADER's 4K
upgradable LV 7390 3G-SDI multiformat rasterizer. This can be used
to monitor up to four SDI signals
simultaneously. It displays waveform,
vector, picture, CINELITE, CINEZINE,
audio and status information on an
external monitor in HD via its 3G/HDSDI or DVI-I rasterizer outputs.
Vidcheck will demonstrate the latest
versions of its Vidchecker, Vidcheckerpost and Vidfixer software. In the
past year alone, version 6.3, 6.4 and
6.5 updates have added 23 additional
tests and refinements which expand
the toolset to accommodate new
standards or modes of workflow.
Recent additions include tests
specific to the UK Digital Production
Partnership's Common Technical
Delivery specification for commercials
and sponsorship delivery.
Supporting sub-SD, SD, HD, UHD, 4K,
8K and mixed workflows, Vidchecker is
designed for checking file-based video
before and after distribution, and for
use by broadcasters for checking files
received from post production and
content distributors to ensure that file,
video and audio parameters and levels
are correct and ready for general
transmission.
Vidchecker tests and corrects four
files at a time, providing a highly
efficient alternative to checking
conformance by eye and hand. It can
also automatically and intelligently
correct video and audio levels.
