Names Chairman
GBR: The Board of Gloo Networks,
a technology company established
to acquire and operate companies
in the media sector, has appointed
Arnaud de Puyfontaine, as
Non-Executive Chairman of the
company. de Puyfontaine is Chief
Executive of Vivendi, the French
media group. He is also a NonExecutive Director of Schibsted, a
Scandinavian media group.
Along with the other directors,
he will be responsible for the
overall management and strategic
direction of Gloo.

Artist digital matrix intercom
system was employed in Secret
Group's Secret Cinema presents
'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes
Back' to provide robust and flexible
communications. The system
allowed a complex communications
system that helped Secret Group
transport guests at a former
London industrial space into a
live recreation of well-known
environments and scenes from the
Star Wars film franchise.
The Artist intercom system
provided communications essential
to rehearsals and live shows.

Tech Summit
USA: NAB Show's The Future of
Cinema Conference: The Immortal
Movie, produced in partnership
with SMPTE, will explore how
content creators and storytellers
combine artistry with motionimaging technology.
The two-day technical conference
will feature sessions on the
techniques and challenges related
to making content for theatrical
release.
The conference will include
sessions on next generation
distribution, HDR mastering and
delivery to the home, and the
impact of advanced technologies.

Globecast Platform On
SES AMC-11
Globecast's Teleport

lobecast has launched a new
satellite platform on the SES AMC11 satellite.
The satellite already hosts over 70
major Tier-1 American channels.
Eddie Ferraro, Managing Director,

"This new platform on AMC-11 is in a
very desirable orbital position. Using
DVB-S2 modulation means we can
offer a larger and more diverse range
of premium cable distribution capacity,
over and above our capacity on SES-3.
"Because we also offer origination
and playout services supported by
Media Factory, our cloud-based
content preparation platform, this
means we can provide our customers
with end-to-end solutions to reach
their chosen audiences."

The AMC-11 platform
allows
Globecast
to offer all content
providers a Tier-1
neighbourhood and
the best possible
North
American
footprint coverage at
a competitive price
point.
The platform and
uplink are managed
out of the stateof- the-art Culver
City facility near Los
Angeles.
Sports channel Gol TV is among the
first to transition their HD feed onto
Globecast's new platform.
Globecast has also signed additional

contracts with companies including
Revenue Frontier.
AMC-11, which covers the entire
North American and Central American
area, is owned by SES.
