On Orad Graphics
R

adio Television Suisse (RTS)
has chosen Orad to centralise
control of its video walls and
external broadcast devices.
Thanks to the Orad HDVG4 video
rendering platform and Maestro
solution, RTS can synchronise
graphics distribution across its large
video walls.
Collectively, the walls behave as
a single entity, enabling graphics
elements to display across all video
walls seamlessly. In addition, the
Orad installation allows RTS to
control external devices.
Using Orad's Maestro controller
and HDVG4 video rendering
platform, RTS is able to manage
its very high-resolution video wall
displays, which are composed of

three independent Barco
walls plus one big plasma
screen for standup inside
the studio. All surfaces
are fed by a single HDVG4,
enabling them to run the
graphics on the video
walls effortlessly.
With the smooth
communication between
the Orad Maestro and
3DPlay controllers, RTS
is able to better manage
Snell routers, Sony
mixers, Harris character
generators, lighting desks,
Orad's HDVG4 and Maestro power RTS video walls

Freefly Delivers The MoVI Ring
F

reeﬂy Systems, known for its
pioneering next generation
handheld camera stabilisers, is
now delivering the new MoVI Ring
accessory for Freeﬂy's MoVI M5,
M10 and M15 handheld three-axis
stabilisers.
The MoVI Ring is a rigid carbon
ﬁbre, hoop-shaped frame designed
to enhance ergonomic handling of
MoVI stabilisers. Once secured to a
MoVI in place of the standard T-bar
and handles, the MoVI Ring helps
the operator deftly hold the MoVI in
any position; from just off the ground
to high overhead.
"We've found that MoVI operators
are doing a lot of handoffs with
the MoVI," says Freeﬂy Systems

"and the MoVI Ring offers
both the operator handing
it off and the one receiving
it a way to have two points
of contact that provide
great stability.

lot of action sports shooting,
including one situation
where an operator launches
himself off huge ski jumps and

MoVI while orienting his body in
mid-air for an upright landing."

Visions lays claim to the first
digital truck in the UK and built its
ﬁrst HD truck in 2002 - HD1 was
used for Red Hot Chili Peppers'
Slane Castle concert, the first
ever full HD shoot in Europe.
Other Visions firsts include
capturing Wimbledon in 3D for the
BBC in 2011 and the 4K broadcast
of War Horse for the National Theatre
earlier this year.

AJA Corvid I/O
NED: AJA Video Systems has
announced that its Corvid 88,
Corvid 22 and Corvid video and
audio I/O cards for developers
will be supported in PlayBox
Technology's AirBox playout server.
PlayBox Technology CTO
Stanislav Petkov said: "We
currently have AJA's Corvid cards
working with AirBox to deliver
multi-channel, high-density video
and audio I/O, and look forward
to bringing this to our customers."
Corvid 88 delivers high-density
multi-channel video and audio I/O
via an eight-lane PCIe 2 card.
