launched" their ﬂow:rage broadcast
optimised storage system.
After one year of building systems
to order and multiple successful
installations, ToolsOnAir has
announced the official launch
of ﬂow:rage - billed as "the ﬁrst
storage solution built by broadcast
professionals for broadcast
professionals".
ToolsOnAir the innovators of "TV
Station in a Mac" are breaking new
ground with ﬂow:rage, offering their
ﬁrst Linux based product. Coupled
with their Ready-to-Air Appliances,
this is their first step towards
offering full turnkey solutions
comprising both hardware and
software components.
Every ﬂow:rage unit is housed in
a custom built 19" 2U 12-Bay or
4U 24-Bay rack mount designed
to allow tool-less access to the
drives. Drive builds utilise 2TB
and 4TB drives, offering system
conﬁgurations from 24TB to 96TBs
in a single chassis. Drives are hot
swappable and each system ships
with two spare drives and an
industry unprecedented ﬁve-year
bring in warranty.

SMBv2, AFP, NFSv3 and NFSv4;
and the Windows XP, Mac OSX, and
Linux 2.6 and operating systems.
Systems are profile-optimised
to meet workﬂow demand with
