Broadcast Pix Highlights New
Products At InfoComm

t InfoComm 2014, Broadcast Pix
showcased new products and
updated software tools.
Among its new offerings is its
ClearKey next generation chromakey
upgrade for its integrated production
switchers, expanded family of Flint
systems, and new standalone fX3D
real-time 3D graphics system and
ReVue HD slow motion replay system.
Part of the new Version 4.0 software
for Granite and Mica systems, as
well as Version 3.0 software for
Flint, ClearKey features precise,
highly adjustable keying that can
handle challenging visuals and create
more realistic shadow and lighting
effects. Its robust colour correction
removes the most stubborn spill
from chromakeyed objects, while
a key crop function can conﬁne the

keying effect
to certain
a re a s o f
the screen.

selected
with a simple
eye dropper
tool, and intuitive
controls make
it easy to
adjust lighting,
s h a d o w
and
spill
correction effects.
Both fX3D and ReVue work
independently in existing
production environments or can be
tightly integrated with Broadcast
Pix systems.

970 at InfoComm, its ﬁrst-ever
dedicated audio-only rack-mounted
solution, boasting 64 channels of
Dante and MADI.
The half-rack, 2U device simpliﬁes
any application requiring high-quality,
high-track-count audio recording,
including live events such as concerts
and sports recording, corporate

events, or houses of worship (HOW).
Sound Devices 970 records
64 channels of monophonic or
polyphonic 24-bit WAV ﬁles from any
of its 144 available inputs. Inputs
available include 64 channels of
Ethernet-based Dante, 64 channels
of optical or coaxial MADI, eight
channels of line-level analogue and
eight channels of AES digital. The 970

who require a signiﬁcant number of
audio channels. Any input can be
assigned to any track. In addition,
32-track recording at 96 kHz
is supported.
The 970 records to any of four
attached drives, which include two
front-panel drive bays and two rearpanel e-SATA connected drives.
Material can be recorded to multiple
drives simultaneously or sequentially.
This eliminates time-consuming
post-record copying and allows for
continuous long-form, high-track
count recordings.
Sound Devices 970 features an
embedded Web-based control
panel for machine transport and
setup control over Ethernet-based
networks as well as ﬁle transfer over
the data network with SMB.

USA: Red Giant has released an
update to Universe, its new multi-host
app library of GPU-accelerated tools.
The version 1.1 update includes
nine new free and premium
effects as well as updates that
add features and functionality to
several existing Universe tools.
These updates expand the Universe
toolset to 59 effects and transitions,
more than half of which are free.
Release additions include
glows, cartoon effects, vintage
footage treatments.

new Draco CPU Switch for the
transmission of video signals
together with audio and USB.
The switch supports for up to
eight computers to one workstation
using one interconnect cable.
The Draco CPU Switch simpliﬁes
operator access to multi-computer

computers integrated into a highend KVM system together with stateof-the-art workstations at low cost.
