The ever-expanding BroadcastAsia2014 conference and exhibition - a key player in the region's booming
broadcast and media sectors - returns to Singapore's Marina Bay Sands from June 17 to 20...

his year, the exhibition will
see the return of some of the
industry's most renowned players
in their respective ﬁelds, including
Blackmagic Design, EVS, Grass
Valley and more. Together with
CommunicAsia2014, the event
can expect to welcome more than
50,000 attendees from over 100
different countries/regions.

Director of BroadcastAsia at
Singapore Exhibition Services,
comments: "As content becomes
more digitalised and the use of
connected devices becomes the
norm, the rise in demand for TV
everywhere is becoming more
dominant and relevant than ever.
With this in mind, we have designed
this year's exhibition and conference
to help businesses expand their OTT
capabilities, embrace innovation and
capitalise on growing consumer
demands for digitalised content.
"Not only will BroadcastAsia2014
showcase Asia's potential and
growth in the OTT market but it will

us some insight into the future of

As well as exploring the OTT
business model, how it should
be implemented and how to
ensure sustainability and longevity
whilst monetising OTT, the first
day of the BroadcastAsia2014
International Conference will
also focus on the next wave of
technologies for television. Other
topics for discussion throughout
the agenda will include Broadband
TV, Connected TV, CDN, Cloud

broadcasting, DVB, File-based
workflow, Multi-screen, Multiplatform, Next wave of technologies
for TV, Social media / TV, Radio
broadcasting and more.
And also heavily promoted will be
the nascent 4K technology. Leading
international exhibitors such as
Canon, EVS, Grass Valley, Quantel,
Orad, Red Digital Cinema, Village
Island, Sony and many more will
be showcasing their cutting edge
4K/UHD products.
Orad will be highlighting its new
tapeless broadcast graphic and video
server workﬂow technology - Blend
4K Channel and Morpho 4K, to help
companies streamline productions
and maximise productivity and
broadcast workflows.
Its Blend 4K is billed as the ﬁrst
ever real-time 4K channel in a box
solution, offering a 4K clip server
in XAVC and XAVC-S formats. The
ultra HD XAVC uses level 5.2 of
H.264/MPEG-4 AVC which is the
highest level supported by that
video standard, offering colour
depths of 8-bits, 10-bits, and 12-bits.
4K, which promises to be the next
standard in broadcast quality, is now
offered in a single box, providing
a 4K server coupled with 4K realtime 3D graphics

Morpho 4K is Orad's new powerful
yet affordable real-time 4K video
wall solution. Using Orad's unique
canvas concept, Morpho 4K outputs
can be arranged in different aspect
ratios and layouts according to
the shape of the video wall. Unlike
traditional video wall processors,
Morpho 4K offers both real-time
graphics and video capabilities from
a single system.
