Columbus Crew Upgrades
With Grass Valley
T

he Ohio-based Columbus Crew
soccer club has chosen a range
of Grass Valley equipment to power
its home stadium video provision.
The equipment, including two
LDX Flex advanced imaging
cameras, a K2 Dyno S-based
Replay System, the GV Director
Nonlinear Live Production System,
EDIUS multiformat nonlinear editing
software, and a Concerto routing
switcher from Grass Valley, will
outﬁt the control room and manage
content for its new, state-of-the-art
video boards being installed at its
home venue, Crew Stadium.

a professional soccer team in the US.
The stadium's new video boards
will deliver a high-quality viewing
experience for fans during Major
League Soccer games.
The boards will be most
prominent on the facility's south
side main scoreboard.
The installation is being managed
by iVideo Technologies and is
expected to be complete by the start
of the Major League Soccer season.

deltatre Renews Forbidden Commitment

leader deltatre has renewed
its partnership with Forbidden
Technologies.
After using FORscene in preparing
video clips during major sporting
events in the summer of 2012 and
from global golf tournaments in 2013,
the sports media services company
has again signed on to incorporate
FORscene into its workflow for
covering 30 golf events this year.
FORscene allows deltatre to edit
live feeds from any Web browser
and distribute those streams across
several locations, reducing the need
to send editors to outside broadcast
sites each weekend and saving both
time and travel expenses.

footage is transcoded to an edit
proxy that editors use to create
highlight and colour packages for
the golf tournament.
Integration with deltatre's Magma
graphic system means that stings
and graphics are easily incorporated
before publishing the videos at
high resolution.

MTI Film Selects Signiant Media Shuttle
TI Film, a Hollywood-based
full service post-production
and ﬁlm restoration facility, has
opted for Signiant's Media Shuttle
to automate the daily exchange of
some of TV's most popular series
with its global production partners.
Regularly transferring ﬁles as large
as 350 GB, MTI Film is now using
Media Shuttle to transfer digital
dailies for several shows, including
'Dallas,' and 'Major Crimes'.
Media Shuttle provides fast,
secure file transfers along with
a highly intuitive user interface,
asset transfer notification and
reporting capabilities that provide
critical documentation of all their
file movement.

past have been painful due to

on multiple projects regularly need

Shuttle provides the ability to
work autonomously and in turn,
our business runs more efﬁciently
because we are able to manage
several projects with a variety of
partners in dispersed locations."
MTI Film said it replaced former
solutions with Media Shuttle,
because they could not handle the
large media files.
Equally as important, those
solutions were not easy enough for
everyone to use, and they were slow
and unreliable.

EBU Agree
Newtec Deal
SUI: A multimillion Euro deal will
see the EBU deploy Newtec's
satellite Multiservice Broadcast
solution on its pan-European
news exchange network.
Newtec's solution to be developed
in partnership with the EUROVISION
network engineering teams will be
implemented to upgrade part of
the EBU's EUROVISION network.
EUROVISION is a premier
distributor and producer of top quality
live sport, news and entertainment.
The EBU, an alliance of public
service media organisations has
members in 56 countries.

THA / USA: TrueVisions is
enlarging its existing Elemental
Technologies installation to power
the rapid expansion of its premium
HD and multiscreen services.
Tr u e V i s i o n s , w h i c h h a s

Cinegy Ships
Version 9.6
GER: Cinegy has released
version 9.6 of its automation
and
playout
solutions.
The SOLO version is now the
entry level, but as of version
9.6 all Air / Studio / News
playout products can handle all
resolutions from SD to 4K/UHD.
The release includes a simpliﬁed
user interface; a standalone alpha
channel codec; and the Daniel codec
is now integrated.

Start Selects Rio
ITA / GBR: Italian production
and post-production company,
Start S.r.l., has purchased a
Quantel Pablo Rio 2KO colour
correction and finishing system.
It will be used to enhance Start's
post-production workflow and
delivery in HD and 2K for clients,
primarily for television promotions
and corporate advertising.
Equipped with a Neo Nano control
panel, the system is being supplied
by Quantel partner, Mediacom
Digital Evolution.
