Fischer Connectors Completes Range Of Rugged Connectors
ith its new 10-pin layout added
to the Fischer UltiMate Series
07, Fischer Connectors completes
this rugged product line for harsh
environments.
This popular push-pull circular
connector is now available in
a very large range of sizes and
configurations suitable for all
applications.
This high density version of
the Fischer UltiMate Series 07 is
a small, miniaturised connector
containing ten contacts within plug
and receptacle diameters starting

at 12mm only.
This is a major benefit as
much less space is necessary to
implement a connecting solution,
allowing designers to create smaller,
lighter devices.
With this additional conﬁguration,
the Fischer UltiMate Series of rugged
connectors is now available in ﬁve
sizes (07, 08, 11, 13 and 18) and in
conﬁgurations from two to 42 pins.
From its smallest 07 size to its
largest 18 size, all Fischer UltiMate
connectors have the same
performance and are perfectly

suitable for harsh and extreme
environments: the Fischer UltiMate
Series is sealed IP68/69 mated and
unmated and has a high corrosion
resistance of 1,000 hours.
Combined with the 360° EMC
shielding, the guaranteed 10,000
mating cycles and an operating
temperature from -55°C to +135°C,
the connector is the right choice for
extreme environment applications
as this connecting solution requires
less maintenance, is cost effective
and slow aging.

new developments within its
signal processing and broadcast
monitoring and control product
lines.
Making its UK debut at BVE
was Cerebrum, which makes
the monitoring and control of a
broadcast infrastructure easier, more
efﬁcient and more cost effective.
Cerebrum provides comprehensive
tools to conﬁgure, control, monitor
and maintain products from any
manufacturer within and beyond

the broadcasting industry.
The result is that multiple operators
can take total control over multiple
and complex routines.
With changes in live production
technology rapidly evolving, Axon
showcased its new live production
tool SynLive. Based on Axon's
Synapse range of products, SynLive
has been designed for small, live
production environments to provide
broadcasters with a cost-effective
and turnkey offering.
Broadcasters will have
the flexibility to expand their
infrastructures over time as SynLive

can be conﬁgured to enable more
features to be added all the way up
to a 4Wire 4K compatible system.
Combined with the SynLive
product line Axon demonstrated
its Synapse-based Master Control
solutions SynMC.

The ability to scale Master Control
operations as and when needed is
crucial in today's rapidly evolving
media landscape. With SynMC
expanding and managing Master
Control systems in line with the
changing broadcast needs is easy.

Grass Valley To Showcase 4K At NAB 2014

rass Valley has always been a

HD to 1080p/3G.

NAB 2014 promises to be
an exciting show. Grass Valley
will demonstrate new ways to
simultaneously deliver content to

capabilities.
With the continuing evolvement of
various technologies, it is inevitable
that higher resolutions and higher
frame rates will be implemented for
some certain media applications.
This year's Sochi Winter Games were
broadcast in 4K, and the FIFA World
Cup Final in Brazil this summer is
set to roll out in 4K as well. Having
successfully gone through multiple
format and technology transitions
with our extensive line of broadcast
solutions, we see technologies that
offer higher resolutions and frame
rates as a real opportunity to help
our customers keep pace with the
changing digital media environment.

At NAB 2014, we will showcase
future-ready updates across our
portfolio including: K-Frame - our
modular video processing engine
for the Kayenne and Karrera Video
Production Center switchers
(which now includes functionality
enhancements that expand its
capabilities even for 4K applications);
and our EDIUS multiformat nonlinear
editing software - already capable of
modifying 4K and 8K content.
Our widely used K2 Dyno Replay
System, which encompasses an
extremely diverse range of live
event coverage including sports,
is also now 4K-compliant. Our
K2 Dyno Replay System includes
enhancements beyond 4K with a
new and optional tOG telestration
feature developed by RT Software.
With tOG, K2 Dyno users have a
fast and powerful telestration tool
directly available to them on the
K2 Dyno S touchscreen interface,
which means they no longer have
to move from graphics system to
replay system. This results in huge

time savings.
We've recently expanded
GV STRATUS Nonlinear Media
Production tools to include powerful
new rule and workﬂow engines that
automatically manage the import
and export of content and metadata
based on any combination of ﬁle
type, location, and metadata entries.
Another new GV STRATUS feature
making its NAB debut lets users
working on thin wireless connections
(such as those provided by 3G and
4G mobile systems) to launch an
EDIUS editor on a laptop and create
timelines of material shot in the ﬁeld
with proxies of content available in
the newsroom.
