Airbus Signs Contract with SES
irbus Defence and Space has
won a contract with satellite
operator SES for the design and
construction of the latest addition
to its satellite ﬂeet, the SES-10.
The new satellite will be based
on the ultra-reliable Eurostar
"This new contract is a signiﬁcant
win for Airbus Defence and Space
and further reinforces our longstanding relationship with SES,
which has today asked us to
build their tenth Eurostar satellite,"

IMT Revs Up TV Tribuna's Mobile HD Coverage
hen TV Tribuna was looking
to enhance its mobile
broadcasting capabilities, the
Brazilian afﬁliate of Rede Globo
turned to Integrated Microwave
TV Tribuna, worked with Videodata,
a Brazilian systems integrator and
equipment supplier, to outfit its
smaller sized vehicles, such as
motorcycles, with IMT's Nucomm
CPTx-II Compact Portable
Transmitters, enabling the station
to broadcast from remote and harder
to reach locations.
TV Tribuna also added RF Central
VClip microLite HD Transmitters to
its ENG gear in order to give its
reporters the ﬂexibility and mobility
needed to more thoroughly cover
local sporting events.

it can now provide TV Tribuna's
viewers with unprecedented onlocation coverage.
The station also incorporated
IMT's RF Central VClip microLite
into its arsenal of gear, which will
be used in TV Tribuna's coverage
of the Santos Futebol Clube games.
JPEG 2K Demo
NOR: Nevion was among the
ten companies that participated
in a live JPEG 2000 crosssupplier
demonstration at VidTrans14.
The first demo of its type
saw JPEG 2000 broadcast
profile streams delivered via
SMPTE 2022 transport links
This represents the combined,
ongoing standards development
efforts of leading technology
suppliers, the VSF and SMPTE,
including the VSF Technical
TR101 for JPEG 2000 over IP.
Nevion's Ventura VS902 multiformat contribution codec was
utilised for the demo.
KUW / USA: ASC Signal Corporation
has been awarded a contract from
Kuwait-based Al-Rashed Holdings
to provide gateway satellite antennas
and equipment for the State of
Kuwait's Ministry of Information.
The equipment will be used
for the distribution of television
and radio content throughout
the Middle East and Africa.
ASC Signal will provide transmit
and receive fully-redundant Kuband and DBS-band, 5.6-metre
antennas to access both Nilesat and

- the Thuraya IP Voyager.
