professional non-linear editor
which also runs on Linux and
Windows platforms.
Empress Media Asset
Management will exhibit the latest
version of its eMAMT enterprise
digital asset management software
and the eMAM Feeder for PC and
Mac. The EMAM Feed allows
users to ingest ﬁles directly into
the eMAMT system, even if they
do not have access to the eMAM
library. An improved eBin enables
users to send branded mixed media
messages to mobile platforms.
Improved security features prevent
unauthorised access or download. A
logging module can be used to tag
incoming live streams with markers
and comments. Touch screen or
customised logging interfaces are
available. The system allows full
integration with XenData software
for LTO archiving.
EVS will launch a range of asset
management capabilities for sports
centres. These include web browsing
tools for the IPDirector suite of
video production management
applications to enable integrated
multi-site operations, real-time
timeline editing features based
on Xedio CleanEdit, and new live
logging tools including app-based
logging. EVS will also introduce
a range of new tools for outside
broadcast applications including
a new user interface for LSM
operators. These tools are based
on a multi-touch sensing tablet that
is integrated into the LSM remote
control panel.
Front Porch Digital will show its

DIVArchive V7.1 content storage
management (CSM) system. New
features include AXF Explorer
offers interface for handling Archive
eXchange Format (AXF) objects
using drag-and-drop procedures.
DIVArchive V7.1 also incorprates
video transcoding and workﬂows
and is directly integrated with
Telestream’s Vantage Transcode
and Vantage Transcode Pro. Also
on show will be LYNX, claimed
to be the first enterprise-scale
cloud implementation of content
storage management.
Harris Broadcast’s NEXIO Volt is
a 1RU server with four bi-directional
HD channels (up to eight SD) for
ingest and playout operations.
It incorporates software-based
codecs and software license
keying. Automatic generation
of low-resolution images during
ingest provides other beneﬁts for
ingest-heavy media workflows,
such as news, for low-resolution
viewing, editing and conforming to
high-resolution video for playout.
The server automatically produces
low-resolution browse content. The
server includes direct connections
to Harris NEXIO Farad systems
for shared storage conﬁgurations
via Gigabit Ethernet or optional
ﬁbre channel interfaces. Additional
features include 3Gb/s-capability
for compliance with high-bandwidth
facility upgrades; multi-lingual
audio support; and back-to-back
native playback of multiple codecs
in any order, including MPEG2, DV25/50/100, H.264, DNxHD
and AVC-Intra.
Marquis Broadcast (See page
60) will demonstrate the enhanced
control capabilities of its Medway
V3 media integration system. New

is being shown in an Avid proxy
workﬂow where ingested media is

Miranda’s Softel MediaSphere
is an interactivity platform that
supports an array of interactive
technologies including connected TV,
second screen and set-top-boxes.
MediaSphere Bridge is a second
screen system that connects to
broadcast automation from any
major manufacturer.
Orad’s Maestro graphics
management system is claimed to
address all of broadcast graphic
needs for real-time, pre and postproduction. New features for NAB
2013 include graphics MAM system

networks, integration to Quantel
NLE, 3D transitions, support for
MOS 2.8, videoEngine control, and
SceneEdit2 to edit graphics during
playout. Maestro offers a modular
and scalable architecture, and a
ﬂexible, easy and intuitive interface.
The company will also demonstrate
VJ which forms the basis of tapeless
workﬂow from ingest to playout. This
supports up to eight channels which
can be arranged in different in/out
conﬁgurations. VJ ingests feeds from
a wide-range of sources including
satellite, VTRs, cameras, and stores
them as video clips. These clips are
exported to third-party editors. Once
edited, the clips are imported back
to VJ for immediate playout. VJ is
compatible with Panasonic DVCPRO
and DVCPRO-HD, Avid DNxHD,
Apple Quicktime and MXF.
Pebble Beach Systems will
introduce its Stingray channel-ina-box range, scalable from one
to over 100 channels, including
dynamic channels which incorporate
extensive live content and frequent
schedule changes, as well as simpler
