n many countries, even live content
isn’t quite what it seems, being
delayed long enough for the show
to be taken off-air if a guest, or
maybe a presenter, goes berserk.
The following is focused on key
new MAM hardware and software
launching into the Americas at the
2013 NAB show in Las Vegas.
AmberFin will demonstrate
how new enhancements to its
iCR software can help simplify
the complexity of captioning
workflows to meet a new FCC
regulation requiring that all video
content broadcast on television in
the USA with captions must now
include captions when distributed
over Internet Protocol. AmberFin
has teamed with Softel to show
how placing captions in the heart
of a ﬁle-based ingest and transcode
workﬂow can improve the efﬁciency

and reliability of otherwise difﬁcult
captioning and subtitling workflows.
Cambridge Imaging Systems’
Imagen2 is a complete MAM and
publishing system which can be
used for ingesting, archiving and
distributing large quantities of video,
stills, audio and documents in a
themed web interface. It enables
users to manage and publish video,
images and audio in a hosted
(cloud) environment. ImagenCloud
offers all the features of Imagen2
but without the need for hardware
expenditure and hosting expertise.
It ingests workﬂows and full asset
management, as well as providing
a geo-redundant storage and
back up service.
Dalet Galaxy, Dalet Digital
Media Systems’ newest and most
advanced MAM platform is being
showcased at NAB. It will be on

display along with updated versions
of the new Dalet One Cut video editor,
the Dalet-on-the-Go mobile app and
additional Dalet XTend connectors.
Dalet Galaxy has a new ergonomic
interface and includes an industrystandard BPM workflow engine
tailored for media organisations.
It automates many tasks and
processes, increases productivity
and provides operational and
business visibility. Galaxy is an
open platform with a variety of data
exchange and integration paths,
including SOA compliant tools as
well as Dalet Xtend connectors
that simplify third-party integrations
with NLEs, broadcast servers,
automation systems, traffic and
broadcast management, distribution
and business systems.
DAVID Systems will exhibit
the results of collaboration
with Axia Audio, simplifying
content production, playout and
broadcasting via IP-Audio network
protocols. DAVID Systems’
playout family (which includes

TurboPlayer Pro, TurboPlayer Cart,
TurboPlayer Lite and TurboPlayer
News), MultiTrack Editor (MTE)
and database manager (DBM) now
integrate even more closely with Axia
Audio’s Livewire protocol, enabling
users of Axia consoles to control
playout at the touch of a button,
as well as controlling recording
via MTE and DBM.
EditShare will exhibit upgrades
to its product range including a new
interface for EditShare 7; a portable
EditShare Field 2 for collaborative
editing, remote bureaux and ENG
edit-while-capture capabilities; Air
Flow, a new web browser-based
application for accessing Flow media
asset management over the Internet;
new Flow Automation tools for
workﬂow efﬁciency; Geevs Sports,
a server and production package
tailored for the unique needs of
multi-channel, fast-paced sports
coverage, and Geevs Post, a server
designed for media management
