Meduza Set To Ship TITAN 3D Camera System
The Meduza TITAN 3D Camera system has arrived and will be shown at BVE...

ust 20 months since the Meduza
concept camera was first
unveiled at NAB, Meduza Systems
has started shipping cameras this
month.
The all-in-one fully controllable
professional 3D camera system
has kept all of its original promises
boasting full wireless control of iris,
focus , interaxial and convergence.
The fully modular camera has an
impressive 30–110mm IA and will
shortly include a bolt on mirror head
that will bring IA down to ‘zero’.
The entire system is lightweight
at only five kilos and has been
specifically designed to provide
efficiency and speed and extreme
cost effectiveness in 3D filming.
The camera uses the Meduza
Delta 4k S3D matched pair lenses.
4.8, 6, 8 10, 12, 17, 23 and 35mm
focal lengths are currently available
with 50 and 70mm as a special order.
Set up time, which is a one man
job, is only a few minutes.

The requirement for accessibility
and flexibility has never been

The TITAN 3D Camera is a

the modular Meduza system is

Provys TVofﬁce System Conquers The Sierra Nevada

been installed at Canal Sur in Seville...

he upgrade, which was part of
a project that has introduced

broadcaster’s transmission area,
saw Provys' local partner, Spanish
system integrator Promovisa,
manage the project and undertake
much of the on-site installation.
Provys handles all the schedules,
including the programme material
that is transmitted in all the eight
popular provinces of Andalucía,
Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada,
Huelva, Jaén and Málaga, nestling at
the foot of the Sierra Nevada, as well
as Seville. This results in a daily mix

of shared content that is transmitted
uniformly across the whole territory,
and local content that is different
for each region, especially the
local commercials.
Provys is used for many aspects
of the channel management,
including scheduling. Because the
regions have sections
of regional content,

one central playlist

as seven additional
regional playlists for
the regional opt-outs.

regional playlists when indicated in
the central playlist.
The introduction of Provys at Canal
Sur is a part of a wider project to
introduce tapeless workflow at the
channel. For this the Provys system
includes the following integrated
modules: programme library,
media library, long-term planning
and presentation scheduling. It is
interfaced both to the Pebble Beach
Marina playout system and the Tedial
MAM system. Whilst Tedial covers
the media processing, Provys, being
a great ‘mediator’ between archive
and playout, concentrates on media
workflow and metadata management.
As a part of this integrated
workflow, the addition of Provys
Media Layer facilitates digital
material management: tracking
all video files with searches, lowresolution previews, deep archiving

and restoring the material to
transmission video servers when
needed to go on air, ascending the
rocky road to MAM.
As broadcasters continue to face
tight budgets it becomes increasingly
important that they operate at peak
effectiveness making the very best
use of available assets, including
archives, and have a streamlined,
efficient workflow. Provys is a
modular broadcast management
system that can be applied to
mountains as well as molehills,
from small to whole-broadcaster
scale. It is designed to help manage
a programme all the way from its
first concept or archive, through
production to the dizzy heights of
flawless transmission.
In reality each system is different
and the management needs to fit
with the particular needs of each
user. Provys can help to coordinate
some or all of the operations to
make sure programmes are made
and delivered on time and on budget.
It can be approached at any scale.
Many customers that start out with a
relatively small system expand it over
the years to manage many facets of
