ISSUE 13 - OCTOBER 2012 | WWW.INBROADCAST.COM I N T E R N A T I O N A L N E W S InTECH Fully Modular KVM Matrix From G&D The broadcast industry has always been a highly sophisticated sector and to stay ahead of latest trends, such as 3D and HD, requires cutting-edge IT technology. Therefore it is indispensable to have future proof systems – G&D accommodates market advances with the development of the ControlCenter-Digital. Naming some buzzwords such as “tapeless workflow” or “IP-based” gives an idea of how demands for IT systems will increase in the near future. Ever higher requirements need a matching systems infrastructure – deploying KVM technology powerful IT systems can be established in an efficiently. T h e n e w C o n t ro l C e n t e rDigital is a fully-modular matrix switch that routes KVM as well as accompanying signals from multiple computer sources to multiple work bays. ControlCenter-Digital runs without additional software or device drivers for operation. It switches and extends signals as follows: Keyboard and mouse (USB and PS/2); Single-link DVI video and DisplayPort; Audio bi-directional; USB 2.0 transparently; and RS232 transparently. Enclosed in a sturdy metal case the ControlCenter-Digital’s system architecture makes it easy to adapt to the requirements. Due to dynamic ports the ControlCenter-Digital offers the flexibility needed for any broadcast application. The system and its transmission modules can be adapted or expanded even during operation. In cases where size matters: with up to 288 ports that can be cascaded in up to three levels it can connect an almost uncountable number of computers and users. The ControlCenter-Digital comes with a clearly arranged graphical user interface that allows easy administration for maintenance and of course for any system adaption. High Dynamic Image Processing ensures high video quality and mouse performance without any latency. Intuitive user concepts allow multi-monitor consoles and include features like CrossDisplay switching. With integrated CrossDisplaySwitching, users can intuitively switch between channels by simply moving the mouse. The mouse acts as if on a “virtual desktop” and can be moved seamlessly across the connected displays. Moving the cursor from the active to another display, the keyboard-mouse focus automatically switches to the connected computer. In addition parallel to KVM audio and USB of the respective computer is switched by a simple mouse movement. This way the user can create a multi- ControlCenter-Digital Features advanced CrossDisplay-Switching monitor console and use the mouse to easily switch between channels. As these KVM systems easily can become the backbone of an IT infrastructure, safety is paramount. G&D offers all the necessary safety features as monitoring and SNMP and redundancy of components. Signal types as DisplayPort and dual-link DVI are in preparation. For customers this gives investment safety as well as the opportunity to easily react to new technological challenges. ■ 51http://www.linkedin.com/home?trk=hb_tab_home_top http://www.twitter.com/inbroadcast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpzEatLsHdE&feature=youtube_gdata_player http://www.facebook.com/pages/InBroadcast-e-zine/226166444076212 http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/inbroadcast/id468652679?mt=8 http://WWW.INBROADCAST.COM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLR_a4TIk_I http://www.glensound.co.uk http://www.glensound.co.uk http://www.amptec.be http://www.eavtech.com.au http://www.tvtools.fl http://www.cobalt.co.nz http://www.pilotefilms.com http://www.concilium.co.za http://www.amptown-system.com http://www.anaxartech.com http://www.matrixengineering.ru http://www.semafor.se http://www.defitechnique.com http://www.electrodynamicindia.com http://www.mtc-japan.com http://www.media-utilities.nl http://www.alen.com.tr
