MultiCAM Systems Hit IBC
MultiCAM SYSTEMS exhibited their range of live-broadcasting solutions at the IBC in Amsterdam this month. MultiCAM Systems specialises in research and development of innovative solutions for multicamera capture and live-streaming of all types of events. The focus of the company is to enable easy-touse, good-quality and affordable video production. Producing rich and dynamic videos can be expensive. That is why MultiCAM Systems developed all-in-one systems enabling users to create content autonomously and with reduced costs. With MultiCAM solutions, a single non-technical person with a small budget can now produce rich-media content and broadcast it live or on-demand. Thanks to a quick and minimal setup, MultiCAM solutions are easily transportable and can be installed in any area within 15 minutes. MultiCAM software’s ergonomic touch-screen interface enables 56 tactile piloting of cameras. Preview thumbnails of camera presets make it easy for nontechnical users to switch and mix video sources. A single user thus has the ability to produce multicamera footage. In addition, the solutions all enrich the audiovisual content with a computer source. And this year, the company’s multi-camera systems all offer live broadcasting and podcasting to any publishing platforms. MultiCAM RECORDING is a mono-camera capture system ideal to capture daily lectures and powerpoint presentations. Its innovative tracking technology enables the system to be fully automated and not require any technical intervention. Once the recording is launched, the software’s AI produces the video by mixing the camera video source with a computer source. The solution has proved to be very useful to higher education, with schools and universities wanting to record lectures with maximum simplicity and reduced costs. MultiCAM E-LEARNING is a double-camera solution ideal to capture lectures and conferences. It allows the user to create rich-media content by mixing computer source integration to multicamera production. Thanks to the real-time mixing of sources, no editing or post-production is required. The produced video is thus ready to be podcasted and can be integrated to any boadcasting platform. MultiCAM STUDIO HD allows one single person to capture and live-broadcast any type of event with up to four cameras. With MultiCAM Studio HD, the user pairs up multi-camera production and smooth joystick camera control.

Fujiﬁlm Debut Long Focal Length HD Field
Fujiﬁlm Europe, with its Optical Devices Division, used this year’s IBC Show in Amsterdam to introduce an all new long focal length HD Field for the ﬁrst time in Europe; the XA77x9.5BESM. The XA77x9.5BESM is perfectly suited for mobile vans, in stadiums, for sporting events and large arenas, where a HD tele-photo lens would be beneﬁcial in capturing detail and close up images from far distances. It features Fujinon’s patented OS TECH image stabilisation; the unique advanced diagnostic FIND System (Focused Intelligent Network Diagnosis) for quick service checks after long shootings; dustproof and anti-fogging technology; 16-bit optical encoding output for high positioning accuracy in virtual environments; an advanced back focus system allowing very close macro shootings and also fading in and out for more creativity. Another all new Fujinon lens is the PL mount light weight ZK4.7x19SAM, the newest PL PREMIER PL mount zoom lens. The ZK lens comes with: a detachable servo drive unit to be used standard PL cine lens as well an ENG style lens; ﬂange focal distance adjustment; macro function; LDS (Lens Data System) and /i metadata compatibility; With a 19-90mm focal range and a weight of only 2.7kg (including the servo drive unit), this lens has the longest focal length range available in the light weight zoom lens class to date. Fujiﬁlm also displayed a prototype of the ZK3.5x85mm (focal length 85 – 300M) during IBC. An additional two models of 19x7.4 273” lenses were shown; The XA19x7.4BES mini box style lens and the HA19x7.4BE ENG barrel style lens. These are the ﬁrst

lenses to feature three ﬂoating zoom groups in such compact size lenses for stunning image captures from centre to corner with very little distortion. The latest EBC coating technology, as well as the aspherical lens elements, create the optical tools which deliver richer colours and improved blue response and transmittance. Another plus point is the new 2.2x extender for an extra-long zoom range for enhanced creativity.

Among others, Fujiﬁlm displayed the best-seller HA42x9.7BERD, the barrel style long tele-photo lens ideal for sports and documentaries, the HA14x4.5BERD super wide angle lens and the well-established HA23x7.6BERD ENG style tele-photo lens. To round up the products on display the Fujinon wireless control units (transmitter and receiver) for remote control were shown live on stage. ■
