Cambridge V8 supports video playback, allowing an operator to view the visual content of up to eight audio/video files simultaneously while analysing and processing the audio contained within them. Updates include a combined waveform/spectrogram view that shows both simultaneously to speed up the identiﬁcation of audio events, and an increase in the maximum sample rate to 192 kilohertz. Multiple files can be handled up to a maximum of eight audio tracks, the required number of video windows being created automatically. The Retouch 5 module introduces Previewing and a new Volume mode, which allow users to process - and listen exclusively to - selected areas of the spectrogram. A new pitch shifter is accessible in the Patch and Copy modes. The Respeed module is now capable of creating a speed correction template using one audio ﬁle and applying it to another. This allows users to correct the speed of multi-track material held in separate files before mixing. Cambridge V8 can be operated on legacy Cambridge Q systems as well as the latest Cambridge Series III hardware running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Clear-Com will show additions to its line of headsets: the CC-300 and CC-400 are claimed to offer extra comfort, better performance and more ﬂexibility for people constantly using intercoms during long hours of production. Both headsets are compatible with Clear-Com’s range of wired and wireless intercoms. The microphone booms can be rotated 300 degrees, allowing the microphone to be worn on the right or left side of the head. Users can also make the headsets larger or smaller by using slide adjustments on either side of the headband. The enclosed headphones have soft padding and a slight rotation to provide a better ﬁt

for u s e r s . The CC-300 and CC-400 headsets incorporate hypercardioid dynamic microphones and high ambient noise attenuation headphones. Focusrite’s Novation Launchpad Controller is a desktop controller for triggering and manipulating clips in the Ableton Live digital audio workstation. With its multicolor 64-button grid and dedicated scene launch buttons, Launchpad allows control of Ableton Live’s mixer. 64 pushbuttons can be used to control beats with drum racks or assigned to other functions. Harmon subsidiary dbx will exhibit the Personal Monitor Controller, a remote control that allows stage performers to control their own personal mix of up to 16 channels of audio. Users can adjust the levels, EQ, panning, stereo width and effects including a choice of built-in reverbs. Up to 16 user-preset mixes

can be saved. The Personal Monitor Controller works with traditional onstage monitor systems, powered personal monitors, in-ear monitors, and headphones. It uses a BLU link audio bus from either the dbx TR1616 or any BSS London system to control 16 channels of digital audio (expandable up to 256). A large channel ID strip can be written on with a dry-erase marker. A live mode option gives the user to a real-time view of the channels. The Personal Monitor Controller can be conﬁgured to operate with either 48 or 96 kilohertz digital to analogue conversion. Internal limiting prevents signal overload. USB port, DSC and Ethernet ports are incorporated. Gefen’s Mini PACS (Professional Automation Control System) is a wall-mountable enclosure offering mobility and flexibility when controlling video systems over a network. It can control HDTV displays, Blu-ray players, add-on switchers, computers and scalers from a central interface, using IP to RS-232 and infra-red conversion. PACS is equipped with three infrared emitters, two relays, one RS-232 port and one Ethernet 10/100 BaseT connection. The Mini PACS can learn, store and manage commands from third-party infra-red remotes. Lawo’s SDI-Dock incorporates SDI audio embedders and deembedders, allowing the use of any audio signal from up to eight video signals, as well as the integration of new audio signals into the video

signals. Up to 16 audio channels are supported per stream. A frame synchroniser is provided for each video channel, allowing the use of different video formats at the same time. Each video channel comes with an integrated colour corrector and processor to adapt each incoming signal to individual colour requirements. Any video signal can be converted into the relevant professional video format using integrated format converters. Additional features include thumbnails, monitoring functions and quad split. Control is via a web browser. Neumann will exhibit two new capsule heads, the KK 204 (cardioid) and KK 205 (supercardioid), designed for use with the Sennheiser 2000 Series wireless transmitter. The acoustic features of the KK 204 and KK 205 capsule heads are derived from the Neumann KMS 104 and KMS 105 stage microphones. The design is adapted to the construction of the SKM 2000 handheld transmitter. The capsules are available in nickel and black. Sanken’s new CU-55 is a small wide frequency range condenser microphone designed mainly for music recording. The pad switch has a -10 decibel attenuation and gives the CU-55 two different sensitivity positions, allowing use at normal and sound pressure levels of up to 137 decibels. Claimed frequency
