Multi-Channel Myers Success
USA: Myers is consolidating the broadcast operation being built at the new WCNY-TV/FM facility in Syracuse. Scheduled to launch in October, the facility will assume master control responsibility for the primary and secondary content channels for all nine NY State PBS call-letter stations, NJTV. Operating as Centralcast LLC, the PBS facility anticipates a saving of some $25 million over 10 years. The software will integrate with an Evertz Microsystems playout solution.

MTV3 Engage With never. no Suite
MTV3 is using the never.no Interactivity Suite (IS) during 2012 IIHF hockey matches to harvest related social media content from its second-screen app and sites such as Facebook and Twitter… “Sport fans often carry on a running commentary through social media while watching a game,” said Jaron Milner, Head of MTV3’s Consumer Interaction Businesses. “The Interactivity Suite enables us to tap into that commentary easily and use it to add value to our broadcasts. USA: Singular Software is to hold a public beta of PluralEyes 3.0 for Adobe Premiere Pro editors. The new upgrade features an interactive workspace that displays the syncing process as it happens. The PluralEyes Connector for Adobe CS6 completes many intermediate workflow steps automatically. Editors can access PluralEyes from within Premiere Pro without the need to convert ﬁles or import them.

Fort Takes Charge At NETIA
8 NETIA has announced a major organisational change with the appointment of Philippe Fort as CEO and the departure of NETIA founders Christophe Carniel and Pierre Keiﬂin. Philippe Fort is the former president of NETIA’s Supervisory Board, and has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications sector with organisations including British Telecom, Alcatel, Ericsson, and Atos. Fort joined France Telecom in 2000 and has been managing director of GlobeCast since 2011. He specialises in audiovisual content management solutions for major international radio and television broadcasters such as France Television, RAI, ABC, RTL, RTBF, Radio France, and Canal +. NETIA was acquired in 2008 by GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom/Orange.
