Riedel’s MediorNet Compact To Debut At NAB
Riedel Communications, manufacturers of real-time networks for video, audio and communications, present MediorNet Compact and the Connect AVB solution at this year’s NAB.
MediorNet Compact is a cost eﬀective and easy-to-use entry into the Riedel MediorNet world of integrated media signal distribution and processing. It provides the ﬂexibility of a true real-time media network, including integrated signal processing, at the cost of simple multiplexing point-to-point products. With a network bandwidth of 50 Gbit/s MediorNet Compact provides enough capacity for bidirectional transport of 12 HD-SDI signals, dozens of MADI streams or Gbit-Ethernet signals and hundreds of audio channels or intercom ports - ideal for streamlining the infrastructure of any mobile, studio or live event application. MediorNet Compact provides connectivity for up to 12 3G/HD/ SD-SDI signals, four AES ports, two MADI interfaces as well as four analogue audio I/Os with high-quality microphone preamps and a dynamic range of 117 dB. Furthermore, MediorNet Compact features an interface for Riedel RockNet digital audio networks, two DisplayPort outputs, three Gbit Ethernet ports and connections for serial data and GPIs. One Sync input and three Sync outputs complete the device’s interfaces. MediorNet Compact is fully compatible with other MediorNet systems and supports all network topologies including ring, daisychain, star or any combination of

these. The units can be equipped with various fiber connectors, ranging from install-friendly LC connectors to road-proof Neutrik opticalCONs with integrated WDM multiplexing technology. MediorNet Compact comes in a 3RU housing and features integrated broadcast-quality signal processing tools such as Frame Store Synchroniser, Embedder/DeEmbedder, Test Pattern Generator, On-Screen Display and Timecode Insertion at every port.

Connecting intercom panels over an IP-based LAN environment has been the dream of many system planners. But issues inherent to IP such as latency, reliability and

missing synchronisation prevented them from doing so. Riedel’s AVB product line overcomes these issues and provides a real-time solution for professional intercom users. We’re excited to give exhibitors a solution to help them further leverage and market their own premium brand to today’s sophisticated movie-going audiences.” The Christie Duo™ integration kit can be purchased with either 2K or 4K Christie Solaria™ Series digital cinema projectors or as a standalone integration kit for Christie customers who already have Christie projectors – the world’s best-selling DCIcompliant digital cinema projectors with more than 28,000 shipped and installed to date. The integration kit features the choice of two conﬁgurations: a compact and convenient stacking system for 3D installations, or a new, innovative physical conﬁguration that perfectly aligns every pixel on the screen for optimal 2D and 3D presentations. Coupled with automated features that easily calibrate, align and optimise the images from both Christie Solaria™ Series 2K or 4K digital cinema projectors, Christie Duo delivers a completely seamless, premium movie experience for the world’s largest screens. Using Christie Duo technology, the demonstration was conducted in a cinema in Shanghai. Early adopters of Christie Duo include Grupo Araújo de Cinemas in Brazil and ArcLight Cinemas in the United States, which recently installed the solution at several ArcLight Cinemas, including the historic Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. ■
