Deltacast Enhances

SeeSense Antarctic Expedition
Miniature camera specialists SeeSense have recently supplied four of their IK-HR1P cameras for use in sub-glacial drilling expedition on Lake Ellsworth in Antarctica. The IK-HR1P is actually a Toshiba IK-HR1S 1-CMOS HD C-mount camera especially modiﬁed to CSmount by SeeSense. “The modiﬁcation was crucial for this application as the client had very stringent lens requirements,” said SeeSense MD Nigel Paine. “The cameras are to be deployed three kilometres beneath the Antarctic ice sheet and the titanium housing containing the cameras has to resist the huge pressures at that depth. “It is essential that the viewing port be as small as possible, which means that a small diameter lens was required. This has been chosen from the more comprehensive selection of suitable CS-mount lenses. SeeSense were able to source, test and supply y compact CS-mount wide angle megapixel lenses that just did not d exist in the C-mount form.” The camera also has the beneﬁt that the lenses supplied lied were faster than most equivalent wide angle megapixel C-mount lenses. This eﬀectively increases the cameras’ working sensitivity thereby helping to realise their full potential at the bottom of the lake. DSNG Truck Repair
Hiltron GmbH has completed a digital satellite newsgathering truck repair for German public-service television and radio broadcaster Saarländischer Rundfunk. It centred on the replacement of the microwave system used to feed the DSNG antenna mounted on the truck roof. “We are seeing growing demand for this type of service as television networks expand their outside broadcast activity from locations such as concert theatres and sports stadiums,” said Hiltron’s Managing Director Michael Schiestl. “As a result, we have extended the range of repair and maintenance services we oﬀer to DSNG vehicle operators.
