www.inbroadcast.com PRODUCT GUIDE | Sept 12 - 16, 2014 RF Specialist Audio Ltd Debuts Product Duo For IBC2014 Audio Ltd will debut two new products at IBC2014 - the DA active RF distribution amplifier and the PTX2040 plug-on transmitter for the RMS2040 range... RF Distribution Amplifier: The new RF distribution amplifier (DA) covers the frequency range 500 to 700MHz. The DA is a highly portable RF distribution amplifier which has two SMA antenna inputs and the outputs feed up to four diversity systems via the eight SMA outputs. The DA design incorporates an active amplifier with a high IP3 performance allowing great performance even in the presence of high RF signals. The design also incorporates highly effective RF filtering above 700MHz and below 500MHz thereby rejecting 4G and cellular phone signals which could impact on the wireless microphones systems attached to the DA. The new RF DA has two SMA antenna inputs and eight SMA outputs. 54 Positive gain to overcome the cable losses and provides a little more range from any attached systems. The antenna inputs also provide DC power for active antennas and masthead amplifiers via the three-way switch on the front panel. The DA is DC powered via four-pin Hirose sockets available on both sides of the DA and there are two sets of switched outputs available on the two sides allowing other peripheral DC powered equipment to be connected to the DA. Plug-On Transmitter: The PTX2040 transmitter has the unique tri-lobular shape making the PTX2040 transmitter an elegant solution for making any handheld microphone a wireless one. The transmitter incorporates the OLED display and easy- to-use menu system originally designed for the En2 range. The PTX2040 is fully compatible with any receivers from the RMS2040 and RMS2020 range. The transmitter can be used with even the most power hungry 48V phantom powered condenser microphones as well as dynamic microphones. The microphone is secured into position via the locking ring on the Neutrik XLR connector. Battery life using two AA type alkaline batteries is approximately five hours continuous use. Longer life can be expected using high capacity NiMh rechargeable batteries or Lithium type batteries.
