rowing year by year, SI Media is now
able to provide an end-to-end software
solution (NRCS-MAM-Automation-BMS), with
installations in every corner of the planet, from
Europe, to Africa, South East Asia, Japan,
Russia, Caribbean and Central America.
During this exhibition, SI Media will
showcase the latest news surrounding its
software platform, including the web proxy
editor and the integration of SI Media MAM
with AI.

OEM Agreement
Announcing the signing of an OEM
agreement with Harmonic Inc, SI Media will
promote and distribute its own video server

NEVA; a rebranded SpectrumX with all of
its possible configurations, controlled via
proprietary API by SI Media's automation
system.
NEVA adapts to any requirement of ingest/
playout channels and data capacity, providing
from one to four bidirectional channels with
full redundancy, and internal storage up to
18TB, with the possibility to expand with
an external storage module. NEVA includes
advanced playout features such as 4K ingest/
playout, channel branding and character
generator including DVE, IP streaming and
simulcast SDI, DVB subtitling and closed
captioning.

Web Proxy Editor
In today's newsroom environment, the main
challenge is to be the first to publish a story,
no matter the device or the media. SI Media
has launched Web Proxy Editor, a smart
and easy-to-use proxy-based editor, with the
tools journalists and editors need to perform
video editing from any device at any moment
including; voice over recording, automated
rendering in the desired format, audio track
mapping and level management, video/audio
effects such as overlay, fades, crossfades,
and wipes, audio transitions (fades and mix),
graphics/watermarks, and blur/pixelate.

SI Media delivers an end-to-end software solution

The SI Media platform can be installed in
the cloud (both private and public), remotely
controlling any type of decoders or providing
IP streams. Starting from ingest, through
media asset management to the crossplatform delivery of the contents, the entire
workflow can be managed in a virtualised
environment. Operating remotely via web
interface, users can access the contents,
search & browse, edit, insert them on
bulletins (NRCS) and playlists (Traffic/BMS)
by means of an SI Media Web client.

SI Media has been adopting ASD (agile
software development) for many years,
and products are constantly evolving. All
customers receive the benefits of these
developments and starting from NAB 2018,
will have the possibility of media asset
management natively integrated with AI
(artificial intelligence).
Contents are automatically processed and
catalogued, while audio is recognised and
converted into a subtitle which can be directly
used by the playout. SI Media has also
developed a set of tools to recognise explicit
contents, such as naked scenes or even
sequences with smokers.

in Singapore, has expanded its intercom capabilities with the Bolero integrated wireless intercom...

olero will offer complete wireless
integration and channel support for The
Star PAC's existing Riedel Artist digital matrix
intercom system, delivering clear, reliable
communications throughout the facility's
5,000-seat auditorium, function halls, and
broadcast production centre.
"Reliable intercom systems are critical for
our live shows and broadcast operations,"
says Reuben Ong, Head of Audio, The
Star PAC. "After five years of success with
our Riedel Artist system, Bolero is a very
welcome addition - providing complete
integration for all wired and wireless intercom
users. Our crew members have always raved
about the programming flexibility and high
audio quality of Artist, and now we can offer
those benefits through the wireless system
as well."
The Star PAC chose Bolero to replace
a legacy wireless intercom that could

only integrate to Artist via analogue fourwire connections. Through the Artist
Director software, Bolero beltpacks can be
programmed quickly and easily via a dragand-drop interface. In addition, Bolero's
modern codec and efficient use of bandwidth
means The Star PAC team can support up to
10 beltpacks per AES67-networked antenna
and provide much wider coverage.
The Star PAC has deployed eight Bolero
antennas to ensure coverage for the entire
building, including the main auditorium and

smaller multipurpose hall. Antennas
are connected to three stacked AES67
switches (which perform as a single
switch) that then link to the Artist
mainframes equipped with AES67
client cards. In addition, a fibre-to-Cat
6 extender will allow The Star PAC
team to deploy a ninth antenna to
cover distant meeting rooms, The Star
Loft, and the outdoor amphitheatre,
Star Terrace, when required.
"With the Bolero-Artist integration, we can
change the Bolero beltpacks' programming
easily and on the fly, while end users can
cater the settings to their own requirements,"
Ong adds. "In initial testing so far, our crew
and staff have felt very positive about the
new system. The learning curve has been
minimal since they're already familiar with
the Director software, and the built-in bottle
opener on the Bolero beltpack is a big hit."
