Telescript Adds Versatility
to PTZ Prompters
As the use of PTZ cameras continues to grow in popularity
in studios, it's obvious that a good teleprompter solution
also needed to be available...

ver the years Telescript has made custom
solutions for PTZ cameras," said Chris
O'Brien, Managing Partner of Telescript
International (stand: 4Q4-04) . "We made a top
mount system that turned the camera upside
down, utilising the wider parts of our standard
trapezoidal hoods, as well other solutions with
a more traditional mounting system, but these
all fell short of meeting customer needs," he
continued.

The team at Telescript went to the drawing
board and came up with the only folding PTZ
prompter system in the world. "My job at
Telescript is to develop hardware solutions
that are easy to use and make sense in any
application," said Robert Helder, Director
of Manufacturing and First-Class
Machinist, a 40-year veteran of the
company. "We had already won
numerous awards for our Fold & Go
system and I knew if we could just
expand on that extremely successful

platform, we could deliver a design that no
one else could," said Robert.
The solution that Telescript
came up with is the Robo/
PTZ-210, the first offering
from Telescript that includes a
21.5" 16x9 monitor with SDI, HDMI, VGA &
Composite/PAL inputs. The system has a 24"
wide beamsplitter that allows the PTZ camera
to have a tremendous amount of panning
ability while the prompter is in use. The true
strength of the offering is in the fact that the
system allows the user to fold the glass and
hood away from the camera when not in use,
freeing the PTZ camera to have full panoramic
motion when the teleprompter is not being
used. As with every Telescript solution, the
ability to add a clock, tally or talent monitor is
included in the Robo/PTZ-210 product is also
possible.

Dante-enabled OMNEO is standard on
RJ-45 connectors or is available using
optional optical fibre SFP connectors. Users
can flexibly define ports to use any of the

maximum of 128 ports;
