t is simple and affordable but packed with

DDP offers IP SAN-based full-project and
file-level sharing, in a single namespace with
SSD caching, load balancing and automatic
data redistribution. Dedicated to increasing
productivity, it offers additional features such
as linear bandwidth scaling and mirroring.
All in one box, from one Ethernet bandwidth,
using 100% of the available bandwidth for the

Balancing
With the new V5 OS, multiple DDPs can
be clustered together. If one system fails,
all clustered DDPs can act as a substitute
so important data is always available. Data
replication is carried on in the background,
enabling clients and applications to continue
operating without interruption. Accessing
multiple clustered DDPs in parallel promises
advanced data availability and increases
throughput. The V5 allows multiple DDPs on
the same network to stream (and I/O) data in
parallel, controlled by one master DDP which
holds the metadata and tells all desktops
connected to the network where to write (or
read) the data to (or from).

By developing dynamic file-based caching,
DDP offers the most advanced method of
SSD caching available. With on-demand,
pinned and locked caching algorithms, DDP
administrators can choose which caching

methods to assign to any folder volume.
These features offer the widest range of
performance options for live ingest and
playout, transcoding and editing, as well as
the most demanding grading and finishing
workflows. Where other solutions 'move' files
in and out of cache, DDP's caching process
is based on its new Dual Path Technology
(DPT) which 'copies' data in and out of the
cache. When you're done, files are deleted
without having to wait for another data move.

Workflow Manager
For
folder-based
Access
Rights
permissions, the workflow manager has all
the required Access Right management tools.
Everything - from the creation of users and
groups with passwords, to the assignments
of specific DDP volumes for each of them and
the assignments of specific permissions for
(sub)folders - can be configured according to
your requirements. Access Rights can be set
for each folder for read, write and delete with
every possible combination. Special rights
such as extending the DDP volume capacity,

altering availability, and changing permissions
can also be specified.

Folder Volumes
For each FolderVolume you have precise
access control; you can assign quota in order
to manage capacity. This gives you a unique
way of using SSD caching. You decide where
data resides by selecting Data Locations and
you can assign volume properties to any
folder or subfolder. Quota Control enables
you to modify the available space a user can
see and use for a given folder volume, in real
