Sony camera
flies off shelf
200 orders were placed across the UK in the
first 24 hours after Sony's PXW-FS7 4K camera
launched at IBC 2014 in Amsterdam in
September. Capable of shooting in 4K quad full HDi (QFHD)
and super slow-motion full HD, the latest member of Sony's XDCAM
family has been designed for documentary, music video, online
content creators and corporate filmmakers looking for beautiful
picture quality and an unrivalled choice of recording formats. It offers
a vast range of production, style and format choices, combined with
a uniquely flexible form factor. The FS7 offers internal 4K recording
at 60fps and 1080p at 180fps, with a single extension unit and
external recorder required to shoot 4K RAW footage.

Versatile viewfinder
Lighting the games
Avolites Tiger Touch II consoles were specified by lighting
designer Matt Mawdsley for the inaugural Invictus Games held
mainly at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London last month.
Two Tiger Touch II desks, known for combining maximum
power with compact size, were supplied to the games by Stage
Electrics in Bristol.
With 20 submasters separately paged as two banks of 10
and a further 10 macro or executer buttons, the Tiger Touch II
enables instant control, harnessing the power of Avolites' Titan
operating system. Maudsley chose moving lights due to the fact
that access to the fxtures was not possible once the competition
flooring and furniture was in place.

lightweight EVF monitor providing a HD resolution screen
(1280x720) for high-precision image evaluation with a viewing
