SINGER SONGWRITER BEX FINDS

BeX, whose debut single
Time To Stop The Rain
was released last month,
knows National Express
well. Indeed it helped her
take her first tentative steps
on the road to fame.
Brought up on the Isle of
Wight, BeX (born Rebecca
Gregory) knew from an early
age that she wanted to be
a professional performer.
When she was a teenager,
she boarded the National
Express from Portsmouth
to London Victoria to attend
Stella Mann College of
Performing Arts in London
- and never looked back.

In the spotlight

After graduating, BeX
spent time working on
cruise ships as a singer
and professional dancer,
travelling the seas all
over the world.
She then appeared in many
London shows, but it was
songwriting she turned to
for her long-term future.
'Songwriting was something
I'd always loved to do but,
for those first years of my
performing career, I think
I just wanted to try to go

down different avenues.
I got back into songwriting
and met the right people
who said I should focus on
it full-time.'

On the road

'National Express has been
a really useful tool for me
travelling around,' says BeX.
'I always use its coaches.
They're cost effective,
reliable, comfortable and
get me to where I need
to be at short notice.'
They're also good
for inspiration. BeX
wrote the lyrics to
a number of songs
while travelling on
the coach - and one
in particular, Home
Again, features on her
forthcoming album.
The result of her hard
work and perseverance
is a much-admired hit
single, with a second
due next month and
an album to be released
early next year.
