The UK is home to
some of the most
stunning cathedrals
in the world

This cathedral's history goes back as far as 597AD when
St Augustine established his 'cathedra' here. The seat of the
Archbishop of Canterbury and the Mother Church of the
worldwide Anglican Communion, it has attracted thousands
of pilgrims since Archbishop Thomas Becket was murdered
in the cathedral in 1170. The UNESCO World Heritage Site
consists of the cathedral, the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey
and St Martin's Church - the oldest church in England - so
there's plenty to explore.

CITY HIGHLIGHTS Amble along the atmospheric streets
of the old town, take a walk along a section of the city wall to
Dane John Gardens, enjoy a guided river tour along the Stour
or shop in the King's Mile District.
There's also Canterbury Castle, which dates back to Norman
times, the Roman Museum and The Canterbury Tales, an
attraction featuring an accurate recreation of medieval life.
