a bespoke degree.
The degree is a credible alternative to
university for those who wish to enter the
workforce yet still gain a degree level
education. Designed to equip schoolleavers with the skills and experience they
need for successful careers in construction,
the course supports the company's vision
and the challenges in the industry.

- that accelerates progression
from trainee to assistant site manager
to full site management roles. And
the support doesn't stop there.

Opening doors
Graduates have two
options to choose from
at Barratt. The ASPIRE
Programme runs over two
years and gives a broader
more detailed insight into
the whole business, preparing
graduates to become leaders
of the future.

by starting with six
rotations in every business
function in the ﬁrst year, while
choosing an area to specialise
in during the second year.
There is also the choice of joining the
one year Accelerated Construction
Programme, which is a fantastic way to
learn about the industry and get off to a
ﬂying start. Graduates on this programme
will ﬁnd themselves fully qualiﬁed assistant
site managers in just 12 months.
Challenged and stretched, it's up to
the individual to make the most of these
intensive learning opportunities - and
help is always on hand from personal
coaching sessions and mentoring from

qualiﬁcations are also supported and
awarded by industry bodies.

The only way is up
Many of Barratt's managers today started
as apprentices or trainees, so it really does
show that if you want to progress up
through the organisation, you can.
Apprentices have the choice of entering
into two programmes; the Trade
Apprentice Programme and the
Commercial and Technical Programme. In
both programmes apprentices work and
train through a blended learning approach,
with each apprentice participating in
college work, on-site learning and
eLearning modules as well as mentoring
sessions with senior managers.
All of this means the apprenticeship
programmes are a unique offer within the
housebuilding industry.
And as Barratt Developments is a FTSE
100 company, the business is very
wide-reaching. It offers the chance to be
involved in anything from ﬁnding the right
land, through to those adding the ﬁnishing
touches that will turn houses into homes.
Employing 6,000 people in locations
