ROUND THE HOUSES
Transform lives with a career in housing...
eople who own their own homes often forget that a third of the population live in rented housing. In fact, in Britain there are over five million homes owned by housing associations and local councils. A team of staff need to be on hand to manage
these houses, and provide the support and service the tenants need. This is where the housing profession comes in.
More than 150,000 people are employed in housing
within the UK. Most of these work for local authorities and housing associations. However, housing jobs can also be found with housing trusts, co-operatives, voluntary organisations, the private sector and commercial bodies, as well as public service departments.
