OR AN AREA STEEPED IN CULTURE. BUT HAVE YOU SEEN THE
BEST THERE IS TO OFFER? LET NATIONAL EXPRESS TAKE YOU!
1
Bournemouth
Think you need to trek half way across the
world to discover beautiful beaches and
crystal clear seas? Think again. The picturesque
town of Bournemouth in the south coast of
England makes for a superb getaway. The seven
miles of golden sand is the main attraction to
this Dorset gem, playing host to more than
five million visitors every year. Make sure you
let out your wild side and indulge in the many
watersports available. Learn to surf, body board
or sail, wind or kite surf. Explore the varying,
stunning landscape - which boasts views of the
Isle of Wight and Purbeck Hills - by motorboat,
kayak, jet-ski or boat. From tranquil, secluded
spots to family-friendly areas, Bournemouth's
award-winning beaches are heaven on earth.
2
Leeds
As well as a shopping Mecca, the vibrant
west Yorkshire city has world-class
museums and galleries to rival London. The
Royal Armouries Museum is home to Britain's
national collection of arms and armour, and has
over 75,000 objects. A hit with all the family, the
museum has weapons from warriors throughout
the ages from early Medieval knights to the
modern-day soldier. Kids can get close to the
action by enjoying interactive history features.
It's a fun, free day out. And if museums don't do
it for you, hit the city's Victoria Quarter - known
as the north of England's premier shopping
centre. Filled with designer stores, including
the first Harvey Nichols store outside London.
The breathtaking architecture together with
the abundance of boutiques creates a unique
continental atmosphere that's not to be missed.
3
Birmingham
One unique way to explore the second
biggest city in England is by a canal
cruise. Birmingham lies in the heart of seven
canals and whether you want to learn about the
city's fascinating heritage or relax with family
and friends. And if unwinding isn't your idea of
fun, head for some retail therapy! Birmingham's
famous Bullring shopping complex houses more
than 160 shops and 40 restaurants in its iconic
building - which was inspired by Paco Rabanne
sequinned dress. Must-see attractions include
Cadbury World and the National Sea Life Centre.
