Teean
SmithRobinson
HeadStart
programme
associate manager,
London
On a typical working day...
I create resources and workshops
for a pilot launching soon, liaising
with partners and supporting
the core HeadStart programme.

The most challenging aspect
of my job is... The programme's
ever-changing nature, which
calls for a balance between my
strategic and creative self.

The best thing about my job
is... The opportunity to empower

young people to identify their
true potential and see they have
choices. To show them how they
can affect lives, enrich their
community and see their worth.

coordinator,

On a typical working day...
I tell young people and parents
or guardians about the amazing
benefits of National Citizen
Service and how much they'll
enjoy the programme. I also
have the delight of informing
young people they have a place.

The most challenging aspect of
my job is... Trying to persuade
shy young people to join the
programme without their friends
can be difficult, but it's incredibly
rewarding when they do sign up.

The best thing about my job
is... Sharing my own experiences

on the programme to generate
enthusiasm (and also to get
myself excited for another year!).
