events, and research market trends.
If you excel at your job, you can become
a marketing manager or director, either
in food retail or another industry.

"I love my
job so much"
YVONNE CAFFREY HAS WORKED
FOR GREGGS FOR 32 YEARS,
WORKING UP FROM A TRAINEE TO
RETAIL OPERATIONS MANAGER
I started at
Greggs when
I was 16
as a shop
management
trainee on
a two-year
apprenticeship. I can't believe
that was nearly 32 years ago!
After my training, I became
an assistant manager and after
seven years I was made manager
and then area manager. I'm now
responsible for more than 100
stores in the north, and a team
of six area managers. I spend
a lot of time out and about.
Greggs has supported me
throughout my career. I wouldn't
have progressed without the
training and encouragement.
People who want to progress are
always supported here. We also
encourage those who have the
potential but not the confidence.
The best part about working
for Greggs is the people. That's
why I love my job so much. Well,
that and the sausage rolls!
