JOBS & CAREERS SPRING 2018 - 135

BECOME PART OF
SOMETHING SPECIAL
With colleges in Broadstairs, Canterbury, Dover,
Folkestone and Sheppey, the EKC Group is one
of the largest further education providers in the
country.
We seek to make a practical and positive
difference for the communities we serve,
celebrating the transformative power of
education and skills for each student, their
family and the communities within which they
live and work.
Our 3 strategic goals are:
1. To be highly responsive to the
communities we serve
2. To provide exceptional learning
opportunities
3. To enable outstanding student progress
and achievement
Our staff join us from a variety of
backgrounds - from extensive trade and
industry experience to recent teaching
graduates and successful lecturing careers.
The roles may be for just a few hours per
week or full time.
If you've had experience in a particular sector
or industry and are looking to change your
career direction, try something new or give
something back to your community, you may
like to consider moving into teaching in an FE
environment or assessing in the workplace. You
do not necessarily need to have taught but you
do need to have a passion for inspiring others
to learn and sharing your knowledge.
We welcome applications from people with a
diverse range of skills and experience and we're
keen to attract and invest in staff that have the
ambition, determination and ability to make a
positive difference.

Teacher Academy
We offer, as part of our Teacher Academy,
industry professionals a chance to experience
the work of a lecturer through short
introduction courses and taster days. These
enable people new to teaching to make
informed choices about careers within the FE
sector.
