Career progress The Dorchester prides itself on having excellent career opportunities for all its employees, allowing them to grow and progress in our business. One such opportunity is the graduate scheme, known as the Ultimate Leaders Programme, which is an 18-month intensive training programme. Graduates experience three different departments within the hotel, which may be the front desk, events or one of the restaurants, such as the Promenade, which serves our award-winning afternoon tea, or our original fine-dining restaurant, the Grill. Over these 18 months, our graduates become leaders - and at the end of the programme, progress to managerial roles. Making the CUT Wolfgang Puck is a master chef whose name is synonymous with the finest in hospitality and the culinary arts. CUT at 45 Park Lane is his first restaurant and bar in Europe. It is led by executive chef David McIntyre, who always ensures his team are learning as much as they can. In 2017 alone, 17 of David's team were promoted. We are always looking for passionate chefs who want to learn from the best and work in a dynamic and busy kitchen. From there, he was promoted to events and has now moved to sales. What attracted you to Ultimate Leaders? At Coworth Park and Dorchester Collection, I built a lot of amazing relationships and was allowed to grow within the company - and that's what attracted me to the programme. I also believe in the company and how it could help my career. What piece of advice would you give to someone interested in becoming an "ultimate leader" themselves? Personality is key - throw yourself in and enjoy it! Don't be afraid to really show yourself and be passionate about what you do. Stay openminded to everything and be innovative. Innovation is key.
