ahooti founder, Julian
Manuel, likes to describe
his company as a multiplatform production house. Julian
has more than 40 years' experience
in the print production industry and
still has the same enthusiasm for
what you can do with paper and ink
that he had when he �irst began.
"About five years ago, I felt a new opportunity
developing," he says. "The landscape of print
management was changing. Like many things
in life, the emphasis was shifting away from the
need for volume production into much more
bespoke, specialist solutions - a bit like the
difference between a department store and
an individual boutique."
To begin with, Julian battled with printers
to get this more creative work produced. He
found he was constantly being told, "We don't
do that part" or "That would be too expensive
in such small numbers," but he refused to
give up on his vision. Around the same time,
Julian's son, Nick, was working as a print buyer
at a major London advertising agency. He had
built a vast database of suppliers and also had
the experience necessary to know where to
place which jobs.
And so Wahooti was born: a one-stop shop
with the skills and flexibility to provide print
solutions of every conceivable shape and size,
from the most complex of projects to a simple
set of business cards.
