The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,
along with Prince Harry, have shown
themselves to be truly modern royals
with their pioneering Heads Together
campaign. The fact is we all have
mental health - just as we have physical
health - and we should never take for granted where we sit on that
spectrum. Life's uncertainties mean we are never far from the precipice.
When you dread getting out of bed each day, it doesn't matter what
you do for a living or how much money you have. Thanks, in part, to
the demands placed on today's workforce, depression, stress and
burnout are at an all-time high. It's vital to recognise the signs and get
support as early as possible, whether from a friend or an expert. It has
to start with you giving yourself permission to face up to how you feel.
I struggle with anxiety and, trust me, that's not easy to admit,
considering my job. But it spurs me on to always try to deliver the best
possible Balance to you. Your mental health may feel like your shadow
at times, but, believe me, it's also where your gold resides.
Let's get talking this Mental Health week (8-14 May) - and always.
