ATTITUDE:

I tell little white lies all the way
up to big deceptive stories.


I have a big ego and think I'm
smarter than most people.

I don't tend to deliver on plans,
promises or deadlines.


The world should revolve around
my needs and desires.


I have multiple sexual partners
at the same time.


I don't consider the consequences
of my actions.


HABITS:



Tim Last, 36, advertising,
says: 'I think a sociopath is
someone whose emotions
are disconnected and who
finds it hard to relate to
people in the same way as
others. I'm sure I probably
have encountered a few,
but it's hard to tell isn't it?'

Abi Harman, 24,
journalist, says: 'I think
I've encountered people
who might have had
sociopathic tendencies.
I like to think I'm quite
fair and wouldn't be
mean to anyone at work
to get ahead. Empathy
is important in the
workplace, you need
to be mindful about
each other.'

SOCIALISATION:

I use others for money, material
possessions, food, sex etc.


I am happy to exploit other's
weaknesses if it means I get
what I want.



My behaviour jeopardises my own
wellbeing and sometimes even
that of others.


My moral compass isn't like other
people I know. I rarely feel guilt.

I give my undivided attention
to something when it's of
exceptional interest to me.

I explain my way out of trouble
and rationalise my own behaviour
even when I know I'm lying.

George Dingle. 22, proposal
coordinator, says 'To get
ahead, just work hard and be
a nice person. I wouldn't like
to step on anyone's toes. I
don't really care about what
others think, but definitely put
other people first when it
comes to friendships.'

Jamie Mungal, 22,
coding teacher, says: 'I
don't think I've ever met
a sociopath. I definitely
wouldn't cheat to get
ahead and I always try
to put other people first
- except when it comes
to eating.'

G Richardson, 36,
director, says:
'Empathy is really
important in the
workplace but it isn't
everything. The more
power you have, the
more likely you are to
have sociopathic
traits. I have my own
company so I think
I'm doing quite well
at getting ahead.'
