TO WOMEN

A

good friend of mine (Zoe) is
founder of The Cheek Of It!
burlesque show. For years I
compered for her at Madame Jojo's
in Soho. She set out to encourage
and facilitate women of all ages,
backgrounds, shapes and sizes to
celebrate themselves in a supportive,
warm and fun atmosphere. She
succeeded, brilliantly.
Her classes and shows are
glamorous, inclusive and joyful.
Never have I seen so much
(biodegradable) glitter or heard so
much laughter as backstage in those
dressing rooms before showtime.
I'm sending Zoe a memory box
with photos from our wild nights;
a tube of glitter (obvs), some fake
eyelashes, a bar of chocolate and
some massage oil. All the showgirl
essentials. And I'm writing to thank
her for helping other women (and
men) find their confidence and
strength on the sparkling stages of
London's cabaret scene.
