hen I started putting this letter together, I got stuck. Usually I love writing my foreword,
but this time inspiration failed to strike. So I tried to find interesting new research to
share, listened to classical music, walked in nature and meditated. The irony that this
was the "Inspiration" issue didn't escape me. How could I talk about innovation and ideas
when I couldn't even write 250 words?! But sometimes, it's OK to get stuck; there's merit in welcoming
the unwelcome. What matters is that you simply keep going. Often in life you have to take the action
first, and then the feeling follows. My conclusion is this: the state of flow is rarely chanced upon, but
orchestrated. So if inspiration and motivation is passing you by, don't beat yourself up, know that this too
shall pass and just carry on taking the steps to bring about a shift. Sooner or later, it will happen.
