If you've ever considered
starting up your own B&B
or hotel in the UK, now
might be the perfect time
to make the move. Travel
marketing company Sojern
reported a 23.8% rise in the
number of Brits planning to
stay put for their main
holiday this year, while
hotel investment within the
UK is predicted to rise by
28% before 2017 is out.
LEASE TO GOOD-BUY
A recent proposal to outlaw leaseholds on new-build homes in England
is currently nearing the end of its consultation period. The proposal
came to be after a significant number of homeowners saw their ground
rents double in only a decade, with others trapped in increasingly
unaffordable homes, unable to make a sale. Flats are exempt from the
proposed plan but their ground rents could be lowered to as little as
zero. While this is good news for new buyers, there are no solid plans
as of yet for those already affected by increasing costs.
Living space in the average family
home has shrunk considerably over
the last decade. The new DFS
Capsule Collection is a range of
contemporary pieces, designed
with smaller homes in mind.
Features include compact
proportions and removable arms
for easy delivery, and with over 55
fabric options, including limited
edition prints, you can achieve your
ideal style in your small space.
The made-to-order collection,
including this stylish Peace Accent
Armchair, £379, and matching Play
Hexagonal Footstool in Mustard,
£159, is hand-crafted in the UK and
available to buy online (www.dfs.
co.uk) and in store now.
