At Home With Lorraine Kelly 2017 - 102
'A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE
IS ABOUT RESPECTING
EACH OTHER AND NEVER
TAKING ANYTHING YOU
HAVE FOR GRANTED.
YOU BOTH NEED TO
MAKE THE EFFORT'
which is lovely. People do look at me when I go to my
exercise class in Bethnal Green, because I get the Tube.
On the journey back, when I'm all sweaty, I see people
staring at me and they must be thinking "that looks
like Lorraine, but it can't be as she wouldn't be that
dishevelled!" But I am - it is me!'

LORRAINE WEARS JD WILLIAMS
Even though orraine has u ed her drea o visiting
Antarctica, she reveals the next thing on her wish-list is to
write a book about her hero, Shackleton.
'I know there are loads about him already - and I've
read them all umpteen times - but I found out about all the
Scottish connections on my trip. There's Dundee Island,
the South Orkneys, the South Shetlands - and it's all
because of the whaling industry, sadly. But it's a fascinating
topic and I'd like to dig deeper.'
Does this mean she's ready to move behind the camera?
'Absolutely not!' she exclaims. 'In fact, and I know it sounds
completely bonkers, but I'd love to do more comedy shows.
I had such a blast on Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule
(broadcast earlier this year on ITV) that it made me want
to do more of those shows.
Lorraine also had a ball when she appeared in BBC3's
Murder in Successville in April, a comedy series where
detective inspector Sleet (played by Tom Davies)
investigates a urder in ctiona town uccessvi e. Each
week, he's joined by a new celebrity sidekick, who has not
seen the script and doesn't know what's going on, so has
to improvise their part.
'I absolutely loved doing that. It was so much fun. Loved
it. I want to do more. I'm also keen to play a baddie in a
drama. I was going to be a corpse in Taggart once, but they
axed it so I didn't get the chance!'
Even if she doesn't get to play her coveted bad guy role,
there are plenty of other exciting projects for Lorraine to
get her teeth into, including more of Channel 5's Penguin
A&E ('hopefully, there are so many other stories we want to
cover'), another exercise DVD with Maxine Jones ('we're just
answering public demand') and, of course, the Lorraine
show ('I have the best time'). One thing is for sure, she's
certainly living the dream.
