Are you happy
Don't settle for basic insurance that could leave you short if
you make a claim - a bespoke policy will give you full protection
here are times in your life when
you have to make important
choices - when you buy a
house, select your child's
school or change jobs, for example.
You research your options and give the
decision a good deal of thought.
But when shopping for insurance,
people don't tend to apply the same
rigour, even though they are looking
to protect their most valuable
possessions, including their home.
They often settle for the quickest and
cheapest option, without checking
what the policy actually covers.
Most policies will cover fire, theft and
storm damage, but it's important to
check the small print and key facts, too.
Where possible, ask a professional to
explain the policy in detail to you. Many
find their valuables aren't adequately
covered in and away from the home.
Other people discover that their
policy isn't fit for purpose, or that they
aren't covered for basic things, such as
temporary accommodation, or trace
and access (the potentially expensive
cost of finding the source of a leaking
pipe), both of which are important to
have in the event of a claim.
