WHAT ARE MORTGAGE
LENDERS LOOKING FOR?
When you are looking for a buy-to-let
mortgage, Trafalgar Square will offer
an initial consultation to discuss
your personal circumstances and the
investment property you wish to finance.
Lenders will want to assess your
individual circumstances, i.e. current
residence, residential mortgage (if any),
personal income and expenditure.
They will then apply a rental stress
test to the amount of mortgage you are
looking to apply for and ensure the
rent covers in the region of 145% of the
monthly mortgage payments at a rate of
5.5% for personal borrowers, or 125% of
the mortgage payments at 5.5% interest
rate for limited company borrowing.
