JO’S GOLDEN PARENTING GUIDE If you only do three things, do these 1. Give your children your time. 2. Be consistent and make sure you agree between you and your partner what your discipline methods are, so you are not giving out mixed messages. 3. Above all, it is communication – parents with each other and with your children. Get it out in the open, talk it through and resolve any issues. ‘MY SLIDING DOORS MOMENT’ Is Jo glad that she went for that screen test years ago? ‘I’m pleased I picked up the phone when that call came through to say I’d got the Supernanny job, I’m glad I’ve been given these opportunities. I don’t believe in coincidences. It has allowed me to give so much of my experience and to help families and, for me, that is very spiritual and rewarding. I am a big picture person – it’s not just about helping a UK family or a US family, it’s about helping families worldwide. That’s what is so important to me. So yes, I’m very glad I went!’ Hawaii, because it has a great energy, or Barbados, as I used to go as a child and I have happy family memories. My favourite city is Barcelona. BEST TELEVISION PROGRAMME? A show called The Newsroom that premiered in the US this year, and is now on Sky in the UK.
