Karen knew she wanted to help her. 'A conventional tattooist rented one of the rooms in my salon, and I thought to myself, if you can adorn people's bodies with such complex art, why can't you develop a technique that would subtly enhance or replace facial features such as eyebrows?' says Karen. 'That's when I started my research and discovered a micropigmentation course in the US.' says, is a woman called Julie who was born with a cleft lip. 'It requires a real level of skill to restore a cleft lip using permanent cosmetics. But, she was overwhelmed with the results. Her smile and the big hug she gave me at the end of her treatment spoke volumes and, I'm not ashamed to say: it made me cry...' Lend a helping hand Among her long list of famous clients is Katie Piper, 30, whose recovery from a brutal acid attack in 2008 was documented in the TV series Katie: My Beautiful Face. 'I was honoured when I was able to help Katie. Over a 12month process, I was able to recreate her lips, brows and eye deﬁnition,' says Karen.
