Cake pops
Preparation: 1 hour 30 minutes
plus 15 minutes for chilling
Cooking: 10-12 minutes
Makes 12 cake pops
Not suitable for freezing
You will need:
* 200g chocolate cake (made earlier)
* 2-3tbsp chocolate buttercream
* 12 sticks for Cake pops
* 100g white chocolate
* 100g dark chocolate, or you can use coloured
chocolate buttons
Cake pops don't just
look funky, they're
also the right size for
youngsters to eat
* Jelly Beans
* Edible silver balls
* Chocolate buttons
* Writing icing

Break the cake into small crumbs
in a bowl. Add 2tbsp buttercream and mix
with your fingers. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Take a heaped tbsp and squish
together into a ball. Lightly roll to make
smooth. Chill for 5 minutes. Repeat to make 12.
Decorations:
* M&M's (chocolate or peanut)
* Mini Smarties
* Jelly Tots

Insert the sticks into the cake balls.
Melt both the white chocolate and the
dark chocolate over a pan of simmering water.

Dip the cake pops into the chocolate
and completely cover the sponge. Let
excess drip off. You can skewer the sticks into
fruits such as oranges (just cut a slice off the base
of the orange so that they stand steady on their
own). You can also lay them on parchment.

When nearly set, decorate the cake
pops with different sweets to make faces.
It's important to do this before the cholocate
hardens. Be careful the sweets don't sink.
Chef's tip Keep your cake pops
small so that the mixture remains in
tact. It's easier and faster if you use a
food processor to crumble your cake.
