'The views are amazing'
Before
Kerrie and Arun wanted
more living space for
when guests stay
W
hen my husband and I bought our house in
Barnet in 2007 the loft was in a pretty good
condition - it was partially boarded and
had plug-in lights. We thought about a loft
conversion a few years after moving in and
then again when the children came along. It made sense
to create some extra living space and also room for guests
when they come to stay.
'Some of our neighbours had loft conversions, so we talked
to them about how they did theirs. They inspired us so much
with their positive stories that we couldn't wait to get started.'
OTHER WORLDLY
'We got a few ideas from magazines too, but more for the
finishing touches. The loft company came up with the
initial design and then offered various options, such as
whether the bathroom will be separate or en-suite.
'We used local tradespeople that had a good reputation,
they did all the finishing touches. We are thrilled with how
it turned out. It's like another world: so peaceful, despite
being near a tube line. And the views are amazing.'
THE NEW
SPACE IS
